Picnic Date

Kaia stood nervously outside the main doors, with a bag full of some food she filched from the kitchens. She had run right after her last class to her dorm to change, just so she wouldn't miss him. If it weren't for the fear that she would get in trouble, she would have sprinted down here even. Turns out, she was early.

Today, finally, after so much waiting, she would get to see Dan again. She had waved to him in the hallways once or twice since Wednesday, but she just wanted to hear his voice again, hear him laugh. She shifted her weight from foot to foot, glancing at the sky. It turned out to be a beautiful day, a little cloudy-was that a grey cloud?-but it was a nice day to walk around. She looked around again, looking for Dan's handsome face somewhere in the sea of jubilent students straying, enjoying the afternoon just like her.

The Library

Kaia walked into the library, feeling quite bouncy and pleased with life today-not that this was anything new, what was there to be sad about? The sun was shining through the dusty archaic windows, people were buzzing through and fro through the hall outside. She knew it was cheesy and sort of cliche, but days like this really got her going. Nothing could stop her! Not even silly homework.

She dropped her bag near an empty table and went to go look for a book-one book in particular: Transfiguration for Kettleheads. She had been doing pretty dreadful lately, not being able to change her tiny hamster into a big purple flamingo really was putting a damper on her grade. It was on the tippy top shelf, and she just couldn't reach it. She glanced over and whispered,"Woohoo, hello? Can you help me please?"She asked with a desperate grin on her face.
